CIC You in Sunny Vermont
1/09/2012
Recently, Blue Diamond had the opportunity to work with
AllEarth Renewables to provide cable in conduit for the largest distributed solar tracker
farm in North America. Blue Diamond provided
70,000 feet of CIC to the farm, which is located in South Burlington, VT.
AllEarth is a manufacturer of dual-axis AllSun Tracker solar panels that track the sun’s movement from dawn to dusk and produce up to 45% more electricity than fixed panels. All low voltage wiring for the farm was completed with the use of Blue Diamond CIC.
The system uses 382 GPS-oriented dual axis trackers and 382
inverters. The farm will generate an
estimated 2.91 million annual kWh of power.
The solar farm was created as part of Vermont’s Sustainably Priced Energy
Development (SPEED) Program which encourages the development of renewable
energy resources.
Blue Diamond continues to expand into the “Green Market” by working with manufacturers such as AllEarth Renewables, as well as many wind farms and geothermal projects.
Blue Diamond’s CIC capabilities include Fiber Optic cables, power cables, telephone cables and CATV coaxial cables. Blue Diamond is UL and RUS listed.
Blue Diamond Industries is a premier manufacturer of high density polyethylene pipe, headquartered in Lexington, KY. BDI manufactures HDPE for communication, power, FTTH (Fiber to the Home), ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems), CATV, Geothermal and Industrial Pressure pipe applications. Blue Diamond is one of only two pipe companies certified to produce UL 1990 certified Cable in Conduit (CIC).
