Blue Diamond Completes Move to New Production Facility

Blue Diamond held an open house for its employees, vendors and contractors on November 30th in celebration of completing the move to the new production facilities.  In February of 2015, the previous manufacturing plant was damaged in a series of winter storms.  The combination of snow and freezing rain caused major damage to the facility.

Blue Diamond closed on an existing building and 9 acre site in April of 2016 with the intention of a quick move in.  “Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, the facility needed a major upgrade, so it took quite a bit longer than we anticipated”, said George Zagorski, VP and Technical Director.  “In the end, we added two extrusion lines, a brand new roof on the shipping and storage building, a complete upgrade of the electrical, material handling, water handling and filtration systems.  We added high efficiency LED lighting and large ceiling fans.  The office was completely renovated, along with a number of other incidentals.  We spent more than we originally anticipated, but the result is significant additional capacity and an HDPE conduit manufacturing facility second to none.  We’re ready and excited for the 2017 construction season.”

Blue Diamond is a privately held company and a leading manufacturer of HDPE conduit and Cable in Conduit for the protection of fiber and power cable.  Its products are used in the nation’s infrastructure and telecommunications networks.  Blue Diamond is a WOSB (Women Owned Small Business Enterprise) as well as a HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) certified business.
