Blue Diamond Industries is seeking a Process Engineer for our new Microduct/Pipe Manufacturing facility in Clinton, SC. Pipe manufacturing a plus!

The principle purpose of this job is to support day to day plant operations to ensure safety, quality and production goals are meet. This position is also tasked with supporting future growth plans for Blue Diamond Industries.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes based on KPI's and make process/equipment improvements.
  • Understand future manufacturing capacity needs and support capacity expansion.
  • Study production capacity needs and machine requirements capabilities.
  • Work closely with equipment vendors, to promote process improvements that increase production or reduce cost/waste.
  • Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performance.
  • Train staff in new processes.
  • Adhere to company's rules and regulations.
  • Stay up to date with latest production trends, best practices, and technology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Skills Desired:

  • Five (5) years working experience as a Manufacturing/Process Engineer or equivalent experience.
  • BS degree in Engineering or Technology or relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of plastic extrusion process (preferred).
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proactive problem solving.
  • Travel 50%-75% (Project dependent).

The Controls Engineer assists in the design, testing, and configuration of control programs for the industrial automation of the extrusion manufacturing process while improving safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. The candidate will read and understand electronic and electrical schematics, document programs, and conduct functional and operational tests to verify system performance and troubleshoot issues. The candidate will report to the Plant Manager and work cross functionally with a team of Process Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, and Operators to assemble, test, commission, and support production equipment.

 

Duties and Responsibilites 

  • Write and debug Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) (Siemens and Allen Bradley) code in accordance with operation requirements.
  • Performs corrective maintenance, non-routine repair, modification, troubleshooting, calibration, of PLC/HMI code and/or system components.
  • Commission Industrial Networks and establish stable communication between PLCs and their network components, switches, and ancillary devices.
  • Confirm sequence and operation of machines prior to programming with maintenance technician or process engineer.
  • Advises and assists management, and others on operating problems involving automation systems and provides suggested remedies.
  • Maintains records of work performed; assists in providing content for machine manuals and similar documentation for the installation, maintenance, calibrating, removal and modification of electronic systems and equipment.
  • Utilizes various schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and other resources.
  • Work in compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts.
  • Report defects in any equipment or protective device.
  • Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks.
  • Attend all required health, safety, and environmental training.
  • Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor.
  • Assist in investigating accidents/incidents.
  • Local IT support as needed.
  • Travel 30%-50%. (Project dependent)

Qualifications 

  • In-depth knowledge of plastic extrusion process. (Preferred).
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proactive problem solving.
  • Equipment integration experience.
  • Machine controls (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Ladder Logic) trouble shooting.
  • CAD & Solidwoks experience.
  • Experience setting up and optimizing extrusion process. (Preferred).
  • Job holder must be prepared to work unsociable hours as and when required and travel to meet with customers, job sites, manufacturing sites and other company employees.

Education 

  • Engineering degree in a controls related field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience in PLC and HMI programming and configuration along with troubleshooting and solving software/hardware issues in a manufacturing environment.

Skills Desired 

  • Microsoft Proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • 2D CAD (AUTOCAD preferred)

This is a full-time, permanent position that will manage production schedules, oversee production processes and ensure that the required materials are selected and purchased. This is a working Production Manager position.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day production of four production shifts and ensuring operations are in sync with the strategy of the Company.
  • Enforce company policies in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Recognize and take steps to resolve operating problems in order to minimize their impact on the operations.

This role is a full-time, permanent position that will oversee daily operation of assigned shift while adhering to Blue Diamonds policies and procedures. This position is open on all three shifts. Bilingual encouraged.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all employees on assigned shift.
  • Ensure that all lines are adequately manned and that employees are performing their jobs safely and correctly.
  • Responsible for making sure that all employees take assigned breaks and lunches.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and turn in as instructed.
  • Work with Leadmen to ensure that they have what they need to run their lines.
  • Make sure that plant is kept clean of debris and orderly and keep eye out for potential safety hazards.

Blue Diamond Industries is looking to add a Payroll and Benefit Specialist to the team! This position will be onsite at the Lexington, KY office.

The role will assist the HR Department with processing payroll, benefits administration and assist with other personnel related tasks.

Essential Duties

  • Performs bi-monthly payroll for all BDI entities, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Responsible for benefit administration – ensuring that all eligible employees have been enrolled or waived benefits offered by company. Any issues that arise regarding benefits by employees are handled timely and effectively.
  • Manage all leave programs – FMLA, ADA Accommodations, Medical and Personal LOAs, for all support and plant locations.
  • Perform benefits reconciliation monthly for all BDI entities.
  • Advise plant HR teams of employees' qualifications.
  • Ensures that HRIS system data is correct, accurate and up to date. Working with plant HR teams to correct any data that is incorrect.
  • Perform benefits reconciliation monthly for all BDI entities, ensuring accuracy.
  • Responsible for electronic data collection and accuracy. Ensuring that electronic data is kept for required period and destroyed when that time arises.
  • Assist HR Manager with audits - I-9, Workers Compensation, Employee Records, etc.

The Warehouse Supervisor oversees warehouse operations as a hands-on leader, serving and motivating warehouse employees, leading by example, and fostering a positive team-building atmosphere. The candidate will supervise and continuously improve all inbound, outbound, and internal inventory movement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervision, training, and direct assistance of warehouse operations which include, but not limited to, loading/unloading, receiving, sorting, put away, picking, and inventory control.
  • Leading by example to ensure that all procedures and best practices are consistently followed.
  • Drive an efficient and motivated workforce by providing effective coaching, feedback, and encouragement.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels by leading regular physical counts with warehouse teams and reconcile discrepancies with the warehouse inventory system.
  • Ensure a culture of safety by enforcing safety standards and adhering to standard operational procedures.
  • Measure and report KPIs and operational metrics to the Operations Manager on a weekly basis
